Publication Possibility in Special Issues of SI-Journals

it is planned to produce special issues with conference contributions in SI-journals. In the course of the last three conferences, we have already published 10 special issues (Hydrological Processes (HP), Hydrobiologia, Journal of River Basin Management (JRBM), Environmental Science and Pollution Research (ESPR), Geomorphology, International Journal of Sediment Research, Water Resources Research, Natural Hazards, and River Systems). 143 articles written by 554 authors have already been published.

This time we are very happy to announce that we are going to produce special issues with

- Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems,

- Hydrobiologia,

- WATER, and

- Geography, Environment, Sustainability

(please, find detailed information about these journals below)

Procedure for publishing your work in a special issue of one of these journals

1.) During the conference you will have the possibility to indicate your interest in publishing in one of these journals [note: only registered participants will be invited to contribute to these special issues]

2.) Directly after the conference a list of potential authors, paper titles and abstracts will be sent to the journal editors

3.) In cooperation with the journal editors a decision will be made which authors will be invited to contribute to the special issues

4.) These authors will then be informed about the decision and will be invited to extend their abstracts to papers

Note: the peer-reviewing process of these journals remains the same. However, organizational / administrative assistance will be provided by the conference organizing team.

Molecular-, organism-, community- and ecosystem-level studies in contributions dealing with limnology and oceanography, including systematics and aquatic ecology are welcomed. Hypothesis-driven research is preferred, but conceptual papers or articles with large descriptive content will also be considered. In all cases, the investigation has to be clearly embedded in a theoretical framework and be relevant to a broad hydrobiological audience. Applied aspects will be considered if firmly embedded in an ecological context.

Geography, Environment, Sustainability

The special issue “Large Rivers Hydrology and Hydrogeochemistry” in “GEOGRAPHY, ENVIRONMENT, SUSTAINABILITY” journal will be published as a follow-up to the 4th World’s Large Rivers Conference. Contributed manuscripts to a special issue in the journal Geography, Environment, Sustainability will cover the two of four thematic focus areas of the conference: Sediment transport and river morphology (TOPIC 1); River pollution, Ecology & Restoration (TOPIC 2).

Geography, Environment, Sustainability is a peer-reviewed, open access leading geographical and environmental journal published in Russia. It aims to illuminate related interdisciplinary scientific fields, many new approaches and methods along with a wide range of their practical applications. This goal covers a broad spectrum of scientific research areas and also considers contemporary and widely used research methods, such as geoinformatics, cartography, remote sensing (including from space), geophysics, geochemistry, etc. The journal accepts both review and research papers, and the special issues are published on a regular basis: https://ges.rgo.ru/jour/pages/view/special.
